In the context of increasing volatility in the global financial system, building a robust financial infrastructure plays a critical role in promoting sustainable economic growth.

To enhance bilateral cooperation and share development experiences, the Vietnam – Korea Financial Cooperation Forum 2026 was successfully held with the participation of leading regulators, financial institutions, and enterprises from both countries.

The forum took place over a full day, featuring two main sessions (morning and afternoon), under the theme “Financial Infrastructure as the Pillar of Growth” providing practical directions for cooperation amid the rapidly evolving global financial landscape.

The morning session focused on improving the efficiency and reliability of capital market infrastructure, including Vietnam’s capital market development strategy, Korea’s structural transformation experience, and the modernization of trading systems.

Discussions also covered insurance and guarantee infrastructure, with an emphasis on data development, enhanced supervision, and operational best practices from Korea.

The afternoon session highlighted key milestones such as the license granting ceremony for IBK Bank in Vietnam and the partnership signing between KFTC and NAPAS, marking significant progress in bilateral financial cooperation.

Subsequent discussions addressed the modernization of cross-border payment infrastructure, strengthening financial connectivity, and solutions for non-performing loan (NPL) resolution to ensure financial stability.
